UP: SP set to reach majority

The Samajwadi Party has crossed the half-way mark in the 2012 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections and looks all set to form the next government in the state. While the party has already won 75 seats, it is leading in 145 other seats, taking the total number to 220 as per the tally at around 3.45 pm.

 

Confident of the victory, party’s star campaigner Akhilesh Yadav has thanked the people of Uttar Pradesh and has assured that they would improve the law and order in the state.

 

According to the tally at 3.45 pm, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) stands second at 84. The Congress and RLD alliance has managed to lead in 39 seats while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in 46 seats.
