BJP seeking support from key players


Bharatiya Janata Party has started preparing the ground with major players to seek support in case its expectations of emerging the single largest party ahead of Congress turns out to be well-founded. BJP is quite confident that they are poised to end up ahead of Congress in the elections and are determined to be a strong player in the government formation. 


Talking to mediapersons a BJP campaign source said, "All parties barring Congress, Left and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) are in our diaries. We can do business with any of them and are in the process of making sure that our lines of communication are open. There is no such thing as a no-fly zone other than what is obviously out of bounds." 


According to the calculations of BJP based on exit polls BJP might be in the range of 160 seats and its allies reach 200-210 seats in the 15th Lok Sabha elections. BJP admits that to demand an invitation from the President Pratibha Patil to form a Government it must be ahead of Congress in the medals tally.


BJP leaders said that they were are open with parties like Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in Andhra Pradesh and TDP. They had even for a tie-up before the election with the PRP party but Chiranjeevi's concern was to alienate Muslim voters. 


BJP has also approached for a partnership with AIADMK leader Jayalalitha and other smaller parties like PMK and MDMK have been part of the NDA government at the Centre.
